PictBridge is a standardized technology initially developed by Canon that allows printing images from a memory card in a digital camera directly to a printer, regardless of brand.
The technology completely bypasses the need for a computer. Each PictBridge device is automatically recognized by the other. As the vast majority of cameras and printers are now PictBridge compatible the USB cable that comes in the box with the camera can be used to plug directly into the printer using the menu on the camera to select which image is printed. Obviously this can greatly reduce the post production work and any fine adjustments you might make via image manipulation software but great for an instant print to share.
