Face detection is a computer technology that determines the locations and sizes of human faces in digital images whilst ignoring anything else, such as buildings, trees and bodies. It became the 'new technology' for digital cameras in 2007 and whilst many people were sceptical and saw it simply as a gimmick once tried was very well received. It works and works well.
